Duration
The Spotify Shop was created as the final project for the E-Commerce course at Fordham University. It is an e-commerce platform that improves the existing marketplace by allowing Spotify users to buy products from their favorite artists directly on Spotify without visiting a third-party website.
As part of a team that included a full-stack developer and another team member, I was in charge of interviewing users, creating paper and digital wireframes, generating low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, conducting usability testing, updating designs, determining the information architecture, and producing responsive survey layouts.

Background
Research
Although Spotify is known for its wide selection of songs, user-friendly interface, personalized recommendations, and integration with other devices and platforms, it does not take advantage of the merchandise of the artists. Traditionally, fans of an artist will listen to their favorite songs on Spotify and go to a third-party website to purchase merchandises that are created by that artist. This creates an inconvenience since going back and forth between different online platforms can be inconvenient in terms of user experience because it can lead to confusion and frustration for users because they must learn new navigation and interfaces for each platform and do not have the same level of functionality across all platforms. Furthermore, it can cause task completion delays and decrease overall satisfaction.
Solution
To address this problem, we worked to create an e-commerce platform that allows Spotify users to purchase merchandise from their favorite artists directly on Spotify without leaving the platform.

Starting The Design Process
Ideation
I conducted an ideation exercise to generate ideas and convert them into paper wireframes. Through this process, I was able to address the gaps and opportunities identified in the research and solution.
Digital Wireframe
After ideating and drafting a few paper wireframes, I created the digital wireframes of the main flow of purchasing merchandise. The design focused on displaying different categories and lists of merchandise of artists while allowing users to easily complete the purchase.

Final Look
I created the final look of the website after making changes and modifying the digital wireframes using Spotify’s design language, which was later followed by a survey to collect feedback.

Design
After the final design was completed, I design the survey that was to be used during the usability test.

Key Takeaways
From this project, I learned how to collaborate with a developer and how to create designs that can compliment the existing design and user flow.
